Advertising Account Manager
Your responsibilities will be:
Customer focus within and external to the company
- Ensure effective communication and cordial working relationship with advertisers, editors, graphic designers and other groups/individuals as necessary.
- Aggressively seek and develop opportunities with new clients.
- Provide customer sales service to advertisers.
- Maintain interaction with existing client base.
- Implementing improvements and innovations to products.
- Act as resource for product-related inquiries
- Manage day-to-day aspects of contract publishing-related advertising matters.
- Liaise with advertisers to ensure materials are submitted in the proper format and in a timely fashion.
- Work with editors, graphic designers and account managers to ensure that materials are received and processed in a timely fashion.
- Uncover new leads within defined territory of accounts.
- Create new opportunities through telephone sales and in-person visits with prospects.
- Identify and evaluate market trends.
- Proactively work to understand product direction, positioning, and market strategies.
- Must be creative, resourceful and be able to work independently.
- Work with other internal departments to maximise journal exposure to prospects.
- Maintain a high degree of motivation and self-confidence.
- Other duties as directed by the Publisher.
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Information Sciences, Arts, Commerce or other relevant qualifications from recognized institutions.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of the use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- High degree of motivation and self-confidence.
- Good negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Strong inter-personal, written, and oral communication skills.
