WORK AFFIRMATIONS

Many years ago, when I was laboring in obscurity as Speech Consultant for a communication center in Makati, my President and Director requested me to take his place in giving a speech for a group of college professors in one of our universities in Metro Manila. He had to excuse himself for health reasons and there was no one else who could do this for him.

I accepted the challenge with considerable trepidation even if the situation was not ideal even for an experienced trainer like me whose experience was absolutely limited. The deadline was tight and I would not be given the opportunity to talk with my Boss to find out what he wanted to say or simply how he wanted to get started. Guidance from him was minimal as he was recuperating and it was left for me to decide what I shoul say and how I should start, as best as I knew how he would have wanted it. Nevertheless, I’m proud to say that I somehow muddled through. This humbling experience laid the red carpet for enumerable training assignments and speaking engagements ever since.

What makes it difficult to deliver a presentation is how to get started. “Well begun is well done.” It is with this note that I have listed very inspiring work-related affirmations of quotes on work that you can start your presentation with. Or, you can have these on your desks for you to read at the start of the day and witness how your day will be liked! Have one affirmation a day until all these shall be a part of your daily workload. Feel the difference it creates!
