HOW TO JOIN
Eligibility
Tertiary Education Group
Full-time tertiary education students (aged 17 to 25 as of the time of enrollment) from local universities, colleges and/or vocational education institutions are eligible to enter.
The following types of students are eligible to enter:
- Bachelor degree level;
- Higher diploma level;
- Advance diploma level;
- Associate degree level; or
- Diploma.
A) Media specialism
- Any participant of the team is from any of the following study programmes will be classified as media specialism:
- Marketing Communications;
- Public Relations;
- Media; or
- Advertising.
- Enrollment form must be endorsed by the university / college / institute;
- Each team should have 3 – 8 participants;
- All participants must be the students from the same university / college / institute;
- Participants studying in different programmes at the same university / college / institute can form a team;
- Technical people (camera operating crew, lighting crew, make-up artist, and hairdressers), actors and actresses can be outsiders of the group. A detail list of contributors must be reported.
B) Non-Media specialism
- All participants of the team are NOT from the following study programmes will be classified as non-media specialism:
- Marketing Communications;
- Public Relations;
- Media; or
- Advertising.
- Enrollment form must be endorsed by the university / college / institute;
- Each team should have 3 – 8 participants;
- All participants must be the students from the same university / college / institute;
- Participants studying in different programmes at the same university / college / institute can form a team;
- Technical people (camera operating crew, lighting crew, make-up artist, and hairdressers), actors and actresses can be outsiders of the group. A detail list of contributors must be reported.
Open Group
- Aged 17 to 25 as of the time of enrollment;
- Free to compose a team;
- Each team should have 2 – 5 participants;
- Participants from different schools / organizations are all welcome;
- All participants must be Hong Kong resident or have a valid working permit. Please submit the copy of the relevant document for identity's proof.
- Technical people (camera operating crew, lighting crew, make-up artist, and hairdressers), actors and actresses can be outsiders of the group. A detail list of contributors must be reported.

Remarks
- Please submit the work with the submission cover. Download the submission cover.
- Please complete the Enrollment Form and submit to HKIM – YMC Awards Committee Secretariat with the enrollment fee on or before 23 May 2007.
- Enrollment fee: $250/team for tertiary education group; $500/team for open group
- Enrollment submission after 23 May 2007 will be considered as late submission. Extra administration fee of $100/team will be charged for late submission from 24 May to 29 June 2007. Submission after 29 June 2007 will not be accepted.
- Each member must fill in one Team Members List. The Team Members List must be submitted to HKIM – YMC Awards Committee Secretariat on or before 29 June 2007.
Rules and Regulations
General
- All participants must be the age of 17 to 25, taking a full-time study programme in HK for participating tertiary education group at the time they enroll.
- All participants must be the age of 17 to 25, also must be HK residents with valid HK ID cards or with valid working permits at the time they enroll.
- A participant cannot be a member of more than one team. Each team is allowed to submit one proposal only.
- Enrollment can be emailed to hkim-ymcawards@hkim.org.hk for registration or by submitting to HKIM – YMC Awards Committee Secretariat and all the fees must be handling at HKIM – YMC Awards Committee Secretariat.
- Participants enroll in tertiary education group require endorsement from their university/institute of their application.
- Any one of the participants in the team is from media specialism which stated as above, the team will be classified into a media specialism team.
- People who have been working in advertising, public relations, event management, design or firm/video production are not eligible to participate.
- The enrollment fees and/or administration charges are not refundable.
- The submitted TV commercials must be followed the general code of practice and the broadcasting standard in Hong Kong.
- If on the day of training or presentation session, the government announces that students need not attend school, these events will be postponed. Announcement of new dates will be made on the official website.
- The organizer reserves the right to alter or modify the rules or schedule of the event if necessary or expedient.
- Participants of tertiary education group are required to bring along their HK ID cards or student ID cards for identification when attending training or presentation sessions.
- It is strictly forbidden for any participants to reuse any work that he/she submitted in another competition. Violators will be disqualified.
- The organizer reserves the absolute desertion on accepting or refusing any enrollments without disclosing the reasons.
- According to the standard and the numbers of the enrollment, the judging panel will have the absolute desertion if they feel that a particular award should not be given.
- The decision of the judging panel on all results shall be final and conclusive. No appeals will be entertained.
- Any finalist teams failing to attend the final presentation will be assumed to have given up the right to compete.
- Participants in any part of this event are reminded to take care of their personal property. The organizer will not be responsible for any loss.
- The organizer will not be responsible for any accidents, injuries or damage which might occur during participation in or attendance at this competition or any other related activities.

Copyrights and plagiarism
- The copyright of all images and music used in the submitted works, including the advertisements and presentation, must be declared by the participants. The organizer will not bear any liabilities for infringement of copyright of any materials submitted by the participants.
- Participants found to have committed copyright infringements in their work will be disqualified.
- Participants found to have committed acts of plagiarism in their work will be disqualified.
Information collected and usage
- The participants need to provide all true information, including the list of contributors. False information submitted will cause the whole team being qualified.
- All information submitted and collected are for the use of planning, judging and promoting the Awards. The organizer also reserves the right to use the information for its marketing purposes.
- All information including personal data of the participants will be used by the organizer strictly for purposes relating to the Awards, including the disclosure and transfer thereof to the judges and the media where necessary.
- All information including personal data of the participants may also be used for publicizing the event.
- All information including personal data of the participants will be stored and kept by the organizer for a period of 24 months from the date when such data are collected.
- The organizer shall own all rights in and arising from all works submitted for the Awards including, without limitation, the copyrights thereon. All works submitted will not be returned to participants.
- All participants whose entry forms have been duly completed and submitted may have their names published on the official website and/or official publications.
- Participants may be requested to attend some publicity campaigns e.g. promotion activities and media interview, etc.
Computer-related issues
- The organizer will not be responsible for computer failures due to computer virus transmitted via e-mail correspondence or other means.
- The organizer will not be responsible for any data loss due to computer failure. The organizer reserves the right to postpone the competition if the problem proves to be serious.
Adherence to the rules and regulations
- Participants must adhere to the rules and regulations set out for this competition. Participants failing to abide by the rules and regulations will be subject to disqualification, downgrading or other penalties.
- Any participants who causes undue disturbance in a competition venue, and ignores a warning from the judges or staff may be disqualified and/or expelled from the venue.
- The organizer has the final rights in the interpretation and amendment of the rules and regulations.
- Participants will be notified of major amendments to the rules and regulations if necessary.
